When you are unemployed, jobseeker or repeatedly in short-term employment relationships, it is possible for you to seek a health examination at your own health centre, if you think that health issues are an obstacle to your employment or retraining, or if you are otherwise intrigued by your own state of health.
The health examination of an unemployed person begins by contacting your own health centre. When contacted, you will get instructions on how your health examination is progressing. The health examination of an unemployed person also includes filling in an electronic health survey in the Omaolo online service.
The health examination provides information on your current state of health. The health examination examines issues on your mind, and helps to prevent health risks. Treatment of detected diseases will also be started, if necessary, and you will receive service guidance on the services appropriate for you. The health examination includes blood tests, the extent of which will be assessed after the electronic survey you have filled out.
You should go for a health examination, when
- 3-5 years have passed from your last health examination
- you are concerned about your state of health
- there is a need to assess work capacity or need for rehabilitation.
Intended for
Unemployed jobseekers or persons with repeated short-term employment relationships.
What you should do
You need a referral for the health examination from the TE services, a social worker, Kela or TYP, or you can contact a health centre directly. Health examinations for the unemployed are performed at each health centre.
The extended health examinations requested by the TE Office are carried out in a centralised manner at the Sampoharju Health Centre for the residents of Jyväskylä, Joutsa, Keuruu, Laukaa, Luhanka, Multia, Konnevesi, Petäjävesi and Toivakka.
